Thick materials are frequently used, both to reinforce or to construct new road pavement. Thick materials tend to creep to the side under the pressure of the roller. To offset this, operators avoid working near the side. This results in weak compaction of the area, which leads to fast deterioration.
The Side Roller provides compaction of the edges and longitudinal joints under any circumstance.
In addition to a substantial improvement of density compared with the “hot joint” technique, this device increases production significantly as the roller can work on a continuous basis on the same area.
The wheel leans on the side of the course to be compacted and moves alongside it. The main cylinder, which communicates with the isostatic suspension circuit, conveys to the wheel an applied force value that is proportionate to the load per wheel of the roller, i.e., the side roller is isostatic as well
With two possible applied force values, three inclinations of the side wheel (40º – 45º – 50º) and three widths of tread contour (65 – 115 – 165 mm), CORINSA side roller is truly unique in the world.
