COMPACTADOR-BORDES

Corinsa side roller

The application of thick materials is now common practice, both in reinforcement and in the construction of new roadways. These materials tend to flow toward the edges under the action of the compactors, and to mitigate this problem, operators avoid working close to the edges as much as possible. This results in weak compaction of the area, leading to its rapid deterioration.

The “Side-Roll” edge compaction device allows compaction of edges and longitudinal joints under all circumstances.

In addition to a substantial improvement in density compared to the “hot joint” technique, this device allows for a significant increase in production, as it allows the paver to work continuously on the same strip.

The wheel rests on the side of the layer to be compacted and moves over it. The main cylinder, in communication with the isostatic suspension circuit, transmits to the wheel a support force proportional to the load per compactor wheel, making the edge compactor also isostatic.

Two possible contact force values, three lateral wheel inclinations (40° – 45° – 50°), and three tread widths (65 – 115 – 165 mm) make this CORINSA device unique in the world.
